2008 Infiniti G35 Review | Buyer Guide
G35 Soldiers On With Few Changes
When the Infiniti G35 arrived on the scene in 2002 it was hailed as an outstanding sports sedan by the media. This was a car with all the right stuff. It had sleek styling, loads of power and great handling. A panel of auto journalists crowned it “Car of the Year” at the Detroit Auto Show. Enthusiasts responded by buying the G35 in large numbers.
Last year, 2007, Infiniti revamped the car. They gave it a more sculptured body, improved interior styling, more power and sharper handling. In short, they improved what was already an excellent car, and turned it into a true BMW and Audi fighter.
For 2008, the G35 carries over much the same as it was last year. However, Infiniti now makes the Sport package available on the all-wheel drive and Journey models. My test car this time was a Sport equipped Journey which features a standard automatic transmission with paddle shifters. This is a good choice for those who want superb handling, but are not eager to change gears all the time.
See my 2007 review for more details about the G35.
